Jongro Kelim Dakdoritang, Korea’s representative spicy chicken stew, opened its Hong Kong flagship restaurant in March 2023. The restaurant is Kelim’s first overseas venture and is located in Causeway Bay, one of the city’s iconic dining area.
Kelim has 60 years of tradition and commitment to providing Dakdoritang (spicy chicken stew) with the best ingredients and authentic dishes. This is an exciting step for Kelim, not only to be entering the Hong Kong market which has such an amazing Eastern and Western food culture but also to bringing the successful Kelim’s franchise restaurant concept to Asia.
The flagship restaurant will serve the Kelim ‘s unique tasting menu, featuring chicken stew with chili, garlic, spring onion and the very best ingredients from Korea. Guests will also love to try our popular side dishes, including cheese fried rice, kimchi pancake, Korean boneless chicken feet, rice balls, sweet pancake, etc. You are sure to discover Korea’s authentic taste, scents and cooking methods at each visit.

Jongro Kelim Dakdoritang started its business under the name “Kelim Restaurant” in a narrow alley in Jongno 3-ga, Seoul in 1965. Kelim Dakdoritang literally mean “chicken forest” and “spicy chicken stew” in Korean. Kelim’s Dakdoritang has been best loved by many people because of the restaurant’s perseverance with serving only one menu, spicy chicken stew with garlic, for 60 years. Based on Jongro Kelim Dakdoritang’s unique recipe which has been passed down in secret through generations, Kelim serves spicy chicken stew with a lot of minced garlic and soup which is not a typical Dakdoritang that you could find in Korea.
